Description

Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Evening shifts, 10 hours each (14:15 to 00:15)
  • Week 1: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
  • Week 2: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (rotating 8 days on / 6 days off)
  • Standby call and holiday shifts may be required based on operational needs

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiology Technologist license in Wisconsin
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technologist
  • Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Certifications & Compliance

  • BLS and ACLS certifications must be current and issued by the American Heart Association
  • National certification/verification required within 30 days of start and upon expiration (as applicable)
  • Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start and upon expiration
  • Facility-specific pass/fail testing (e.g., telemetry exams) may be required depending on unit assignment
  • Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable

Background and Screening Requirements

  • Comprehensive background check within 90 days prior to start, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
  • Wisconsin Caregiver Screening and BID Form required within 90 days of start
  • Ongoing monthly monitoring through workforce monitoring systems
  • Background review required for any pending or convicted criminal charges (excluding certain traffic violations)

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes; TB questionnaire updated annually
  • Proof of immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – 2 doses or positive titers required
    • Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer required; history of chickenpox not accepted
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series and positive antibody titer or signed facility-specific declination form (required for direct patient care roles)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season (09/22 – 04/13)
  • Meningococcal vaccine or declination required if working in Microbiology department
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof required (10-year update not mandatory)

Additional Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year (to meet agency standard)
  • Drug screening required for all clinical candidates per agency standards; pharmacy department candidates require specific drug panel within 45 days of start
  • Signed acknowledgment of facility safety manual and pass/fail testing as applicable
  • Passport-style photo for badge issuance (specific photo requirements apply)
  • Completion of facility-specific communicable disease form within 90 days of start
  • Medical or religious exemption forms for vaccines must follow facility approval processes

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
