Description

Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech - Surgical Services

Location: Silver Spring, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours (6:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40


Job Description

  • Monday through Friday schedule; day off varies.
  • Call requirement: 2-3 weekday calls and at least 1 weekend call per month (24-hour coverage on Saturday and Sunday).

Required Qualifications

  • CVOR Technologist with at least 1 year of experience.
  • CVOR Technologist experience within the last year.
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Compliance & Background Checks

  • Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service.
  • 7-year criminal background check within one year of start, updated annually.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal.
  • Maryland CJIS/DSS/FBI fingerprinting required for behavioral health units or campuses; must be completed in Maryland with results prior to start.
  • CPS background check required for behavioral health units.
  • Drug screening: 11-panel drug screen including cotinine/nicotine and marijuana within 30 days of start.
  • Physical exam required within 1 year of start, updated annually.
  • Fit mask testing required within 12 months of start; must comply with facility-approved masks and grooming policies.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (must include Pertussis).
  • Negative TB test (QuantiFERON-TB Gold or TSPOT) within 90 days of start or two-step TST; chest x-ray and TB questionnaire as applicable.
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B (positive quantitative titer required).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (10/1 - 3/31) unless approved exemption.
  • Visual acuity screening within 6 months of start, repeated annually.
  • Color blind exam within 5 years of start.
  • COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declinations require facility approval.

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Facility is smoke/nicotine free; no exceptions.
  • Clear, passport-style photo required for badge; must be recent and professional.
  • Completion of facility-specific forms including privacy act and CPS forms notarized in person.
  • Fingerprint receipts and results must be on file prior to start.
  • Fit test religious or medical exemptions require facility-approved forms and may lead to PAPR training.
  • Radiation badge provided by facility for applicable roles; prior radiation exposure attestation required for certain tech roles.
  • Facility requires timely submission of personal information (address, DOB, phone number, email).

Competencies

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
  • Competency exams required.
  • Color blind testing required for all travelers.
  • Core HIPAA training or signed HIPAA form required.
