Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Willmar, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Role: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Shift: Evening, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12)
• Shift Hours: 3:00 PM – 3:30 AM
• Weekend Requirement: At least every other weekend, may vary based on unit needs and holiday scheduling
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Minnesota
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Current certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 1 year of start, including:

  • 7-year search, SS trace, counties, sex offender, nationwide
  • Education verification (diploma acceptable if accompanied by proof of verification attempts)
  • International background checks if candidate has lived/worked outside the U.S.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG excluded provider checks required
• Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint clearance required prior to start (cannot start with fingerprints pending unless a “more time needed” letter is approved)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Drug testing (9 panel) within 1 year of start (not required for client clearance but must be completed)
• Two professional references from recent employers within 2 years
• Skills checklist and competency exams required annually (medication/pharmacology competency exam required for RNs)

Immunization and Health Requirements

• Tdap vaccination required (no religious declinations accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per Minnesota state guidelines (2-step PPD or equivalent within 90 days of start)
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
• Hepatitis B vaccination, positive titer, or declination accepted
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required annually (mask required if declined)

Additional Facility Requirements

• Photo for badge: grey background, no selfies, JPG format with name
• Dress code must be reviewed prior to start
• Confidentiality agreement must be signed before starting
• Education modules completed during orientation (approx. 16 hours)
• Candidates must return badges to manager on last day of assignment

Notes

• Candidates must complete Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint Questionnaire immediately after signing contract to proceed with fingerprinting
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 2 weeks of registration
• If candidate is not within driving distance of a livescan location, travel to a location is required before assignment start date

This position is ideal for experienced ER RNs with prior travel nursing experience who meet Minnesota licensure and certification requirements and are comfortable working evening shifts with weekend rotations.
