Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse
Location: Melbourne, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM), Monday through Friday
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period (schedule determined by unit needs)
- On-Call: Yes, weekend, holiday, and hurricane call required (day off TBD)
- Float: Yes
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- Documentation System: EPIC
- Unit Focus:
- Percutaneous coronary angioplasty
- Coronary artery bypass graft
- Pacemaker placement
- Heart valve replacement
- Peripheral vascular bypass
- Creation, revision, and removal of AV fistula
- Lobectomy
- Insertion, replacement, and removal of ventricular shunt
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Florida
- Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 6 months prior to start (required by Florida law for all patient-facing candidates)
- TB Testing: Negative QGold within 3 months of start or two negative PPDs (one within 12 months, second within 3 months); chest x-ray required if history of positive PPD
- Immunizations: Quantitative titers required within 5 years for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella; boosters or signed declination forms required for low titers
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, including marijuana; witnessed urine collection required for instant tests
- Fit Mask Test: Required within 12 months prior to start; must be fully shaven; specific mask types required (Halyard small/regular, 3M 1860 small/regular, or 3M 1870 Aura)
- Background Checks:
- Within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Includes Social Security Trace, Counties, States, Nationwide, Sex Offender, Education Verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and monthly HHS/OIG checks
- Fingerprinting: Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start; Livescan electronic fingerprinting must be completed ASAP if not already on file
- References and Employment Application: Current application/resume dated within 90 days of start required

- Clear, passport-style photo with white background for badge
- Facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgment, confidentiality agreement, values attestation, and badge form
- Flu Exemptions: Must be submitted by Monday prior to start; medical exemptions require physician signature or letterhead note; religious exemptions require specific belief statement supported by doctrine/scripture (not doctrine/scripture alone)
- Radiation Badge Monitoring Form: Required for certain units (Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab, OR, Pain Clinic)
This position is ideal for experienced CVOR RNs with acute care background seeking a travel contract in Florida with a structured 4x10 day shift schedule and comprehensive compliance requirements.
