Description
Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech (Surgical Services)
Location: Melbourne, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day shift: Monday to Friday, 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Weekend and weekday call required (including holidays and hurricane events)
- Weekend call requirement applies
- Guaranteed contracted hours
Unit & Facility Details
- 21-bed Operating Room unit with:
- 2 Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) rooms
- 1 Robotic room
- 1 Hybrid room
- Acute Care Hospital, Level II Adult Trauma center
- Total staffed beds: 514
- Scrub attire: Solid-colored scrubs only (matching top and bottom, no logos or prints)
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Certifications (as applicable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) mandatory
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (verify with recruiter)
Licensing & Background Requirements
- Current, valid state license for CVOR Tech role with primary source online verification within 30 days of start
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:
- Social Security Trace
- County, State, Nationwide checks
- Sex Offender Registry
- Education verification (international searches required)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check required within 90 days of start
- Monthly HHS/OIG checks required
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug test within 90 days of start, including marijuana; witnessed urine collection required for instant tests
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 6 months prior to start (valid for 5 years once on file)
- Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (specific mask types required; must be fully shaven)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (QGold or 2 negative PPDs accepted; Tspot not accepted)
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Titers required within 5 years for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella (both quantitative and qualitative accepted)
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31) with facility-specific exemption forms and strict submission deadlines
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references related to employment within 12 months prior to start
- Current employment application or resume dated within 90 days of start
- Clear, passport-style photo with solid white background for badge
- Facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgement, confidentiality agreement, values attestation, and badge form must be completed
- Radiation badge monitoring form required if assigned to Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab, OR, or Pain Clinic units
Notes
- Scrub color for OR/PreOp/PACU: any solid color (no mixing)
- Charting system: Sunrise (no prior experience required)
- Parking is free with decal provided at orientation
