Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location

  • Spokane, Washington

Job Type

  • Travel/Contract assignment
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Block schedules required
  • Floating between units expected

Facility Type

  • Short Term Acute Care
  • Level II Trauma Center
  • Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
  • Teaching hospital
  • Total staffed beds: 629

Patient Care & Unit Details

  • Float between units including Floor care, Emergency Room, Code Response, and Rapid Response teams
  • Patient ratios depend on acuity

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Washington
  • Minimum of 1 year of Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (as applicable)
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
  • Education verification for respiratory therapy degree
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer (declination accepted)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
    • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required annually for travel candidates; includes virtual questionnaire reviewed by licensed healthcare professional
  • Fit mask test: Required annually for travel candidates; may be completed onsite
  • State-specific background and registry checks as applicable for Washington

Competencies & Training

  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Competency exams required by specialty
  • Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
  • Epic electronic health record training modules required

Additional Requirements

  • Float policy acknowledgment: May be required to float to other nearby facilities
  • Badge photo: Passport-style photo with neutral background required for badge issuance
  • NURSYS license verification required for all RNs (not applicable here but noted for reference)
  • Compliance with all facility-specific and state-specific documentation and training requirements

Work Environment

  • Charting system: Epic
  • Parking: No fee

This position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to work across multiple units including emergency and rapid response teams in a large acute care teaching hospital. Candidates must be flexible with floating and weekend schedules and maintain all required certifications and compliance documentation.

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
