CVICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Dayton, Ohio

Job Description
- Work in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) with targeted patient ratios of 1:2 in a 36-bed unit.
- Experience required with:
- Impella device
- Post Cardiac Surgery care (both directly from OR and not directly from OR)
- Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization/intervention
- Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring and thermodilution PA catheter monitoring
- Must be able to manage telemetry, drips, ventilators, arterial lines, sheaths, dialysis, and arterial blood gas draws.
- Shift options include 36- or 48-hour shifts; typical shift for this role is Night (4x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
- Level 1 Trauma experience preferred.
- Floating may be required to other nearby campuses within 15 miles.
- Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays.
- First-time travelers are welcome; Ohio nursing license not required at time of signing.
- EPIC electronic health record experience is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of CVICU nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience with Impella device
- Experience with Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
- Experience with thermodilution PA catheter monitoring
- Dialysis experience
- Experience drawing arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
Additional Notes
- Overtime is paid after 48 hours on 48-hour shifts.
- Navy blue scrubs are the uniform requirement.
- The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census and may cancel the agreement with 2 weeks' notice without penalty.
- Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives.
- Request for time off (RTO) must be submitted with initial application; no RTO added after offer. Approval is at manager’s discretion.

This is a 13-week travel contract for an experienced CVICU RN with strong cardiac critical care skills, including post-op cardiac surgery and invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
