Description
Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General
Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Details
- Weekend schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- No on-call required
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Minimum specialty experience required: 3 years
- First-time travelers accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum: 7 days
- Holiday work expectations:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler must work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler must work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler must work 2 of them
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day
- Full compliance with onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week start delay due to orientation scheduling
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Non-billable orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
- Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- ARRT Mammography certification required (if applicable)
- Valid Driver's License required
- Diploma required for Respiratory Therapists (if applicable)
Compliance & Screening
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final manager approval
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including:
- County and national criminal searches
- Sex offender registry check
- Education verification (degree or diploma)
- Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug test within 60 days of start (includes amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, methadone, PCP, THC, etc.)
- Physical exam required within 12 months of start
- Annual TB questionnaire required; negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months required (with specific provisions for past positive tests)
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or documentation of immunity:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or signed declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
- Color blindness test required; alternative evaluation available if needed
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist updated within the last 12 months
- Verification of most recent work history required (can be pending with proof of processing)
- Two clinical references required
- Must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy
Notes
- Orientation hours and requirements depend on contract length
- Floating duties may be assigned within the facility as needed and within scope of practice
- No call responsibilities
- Compliance with all documentation and credentialing is critical for timely start
This position offers a weekend-focused schedule with no call and requires a minimum of 3 years of specialty experience in Radiology/Cardiology. First-time travel Ultrasound Techs are welcome to apply.
