ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night, 4 shifts of 12 hours each (19:00 - 7:00)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a mixed acuity unit with both ICU and step-down assignments.
- Must commit to 4 consecutive 12-hour night shifts.
- Coverage includes every other weekend and some holidays.
- Possibility to float to adult ICUs at other campuses.
- Guaranteed hours.

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut.
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, with ICU experience within the last year.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Background and Compliance
- 7-year criminal background check required within 12 months of start, including SSN trace, national sex offender, federal and state checks.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Education verification required; foreign equivalency evaluation required for internationally educated candidates.
- Employment application must include 7 years of work history with no gaps greater than 90 days.
- Work history verification required for last 7 years.
- Attestation of prior radiation exposure required if applicable to certain tech roles (not RN).
Additional Requirements
- Candidate must have photo ID matching legal name on first day.
- Return to office (RTO) restrictions: RTO greater than 7 days requires approval.
- Must complete various facility-specific training modules and attestations, often via electronic signature.
- EPIC testing or training may be required depending on prior experience and unit assignment.
