Surgical Tech - CVOR Tech

Location: Parkersburg, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Job Overview

• Work primarily in the Operating Room (OR) with 13 OR suites and 2 minor procedure rooms.
• Average daily cases range from 60-70, fewer cases for cardiovascular (CV) specialty.
• Common cases include General OB/GYN, Neuro, Vascular, Endovascular, Orthopedics, Plastics, Interventional Pain, ENT, Eyes, Da Vinci robot-assisted surgeries.
• No bariatrics or transplant cases.
• Scrubbing required (especially for RNs).
• Floating may be required to areas such as Endovascular, Vascular, Urology, Gynecology, and Orthopedics if comfortable with General OR.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist, with experience within the last year.
• Surgical Technologist experience.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Valid, unexpired driver’s license.

Scheduling & Call

• Rotating call schedule with staff allowed to self-schedule.
• Call frequency varies by service line; typically RNs take call every 4th to 5th weekend.
• Call shifts include evening and overnight coverage with a 30-minute response time.
• Holiday coverage is on a rotating call basis.
• Orientation usually consists of 2 shifts in the OR, with additional pairing on call shifts as needed.

• Background hits must be disclosed at time of submission.
• Dress code and scrub color are provided.
• Charge nurse and house supervisor roles exist but are not part of this position.
• 10-hour workdays with rotating call responsibilities.
