Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech
Location: Livingston, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology / Interventional Radiology
- Shift: Day shift, Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (7.5 hours per day)
- Case Load: Approximately 12-15 cases per day
- On-call: Required every 3rd weekend and some holidays
- Scrubs: Ceil blue
- Charting System: EPIC
- Technology Experience: Experience with Philips, Siemens, and OEC C-Arm equipment
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in New Jersey
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ARRT (R) or ARRT certification required
Required Certifications & Competencies
- BLS: AHA required; RQI and instructor cards acceptable; must be current at start
- ACLS: Required for Interventional Radiology RN; AHA or RQI cards accepted; certificates expiring within a month of start require renewal confirmation
- Additional Certifications:
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for clinical staff
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for all RNs & LPNs
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for applicable units
- IV Certification required for all RNs except OR specialties (must be on file by 6/1/2026)
- Annual education and competency exams required with specific retake and remediation policies
Background and Health Requirements
- Criminal background check required within 30 days of start, including alias and multi-level searches
- Drug screen (10-panel urine) required within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start, confirming ability to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start; additional clearance required for history of positive TB
- Respiratory medical clearance and on-site fit testing mandatory prior to start (cost approx. $22)
- Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- Immunization or immunity proof required for: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Color blindness testing required if job tasks involve color discrimination
- Latex allergy screening questionnaire required if applicable
Documentation and Compliance
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history required
- Two references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
- Skills checklist must be completed and updated annually
- Floating policy acknowledgment required for every new assignment
- Facility-specific annual education sign-off and safety manual acknowledgment required
- Various CEUs (Continuing Education Units) may be required depending on specialty and unit
Additional Notes
- Candidates must provide a government-issued photo ID and driver’s license within 48 hours of signing
- Candidates must complete required online and in-person trainings as applicable (e.g., Iron Temple training for certain specialties)
- Candidates with name changes must provide proof and ensure all names are included in background checks
- Candidates must comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements prior to start
This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology Technologists who hold the necessary certifications and licenses, are comfortable with on-call responsibilities, and meet the health and background clearance requirements.
