Registered Nurse - Pediatric Behavioral Health (Travel/Contract)

Location: Oregon City, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Position floats between units based on needs and skill set.
• Weekend work required every other weekend.
• No on-call or block schedules required.
• Patient ratios: 5:1 during day and evening shifts, 10:1 at night.
• Shift options: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Day: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Night: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
• Must have a vehicle for assignment and be willing to float to other nearby facilities as needed.
• Facility type: Short Term Acute Care with 109 staffed beds.
• Charting system: Epic.
• Parking: No fee.
• Scrub color: Any color allowed except OR/Critical Care/ED/Maternal Child units where scrubs are provided.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Pediatric Behavioral Health nursing experience within the last year.
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Valid Driver's License.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation.
• Immunizations and screenings required:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives or declination.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instants acceptable.
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use (travel only).
• Fit mask testing required for travel assignments, updated annually.

Additional Requirements

• Must complete annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via assigned LMS platform.
• Must acknowledge and comply with float policy; may be required to float to other facilities within reasonable distance.
• Passport-style badge photo required for identification.
• Must complete Epic training modules as assigned.

Work Environment

• Short Term Acute Care hospital setting.
• Floating between multiple units and facilities is common.
• Facility locations include multiple cities in Oregon; floating may include travel to these locations.
• Floating to certain locations may include additional incentives and accommodations.

Notes

• No first-time travelers accepted for this position.
• 48-hour shifts are not approved.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required but may be preferred due to floating and travel demands.
