Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech – Surgical Services
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR) with scrub experience for a travel contract position. First-time travelers and local candidates are welcome.
Work Schedule
- 40 hours per week
- Evening shift
- Schedule includes:
- Two 8-hour shifts
- Two 12-hour shifts
- Shifts may occur anytime between 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. based on staffing needs
- Weekend rotation shared equitably
- Call duties included and distributed equitably
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting
- Education accreditation verification required
- Ohio BCI & FBI fingerprinting must be completed using specific codes and within 1 year of start
- Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Annual TB questionnaire
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption requires documentation)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
- Fit mask testing required annually for patient-facing roles, including OR techs, starting 7/13/2026
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leader (charge RN acceptable as second reference)
- Employment application required, including education details for nursing candidates
- Skills checklist required
- Unit-specific competency exams required
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required annually
Notes
- Call hours and weekend rotations are distributed equitably among staff
- Parking permits available for purchase (details not included here)
- Candidates can renew BLS certification onsite if needed
