Job Opportunity: Med/Surg Nights Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Calais, Maine
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Direct and coordinate patient care team members to provide individualized, quality patient care.
- Develop patient care plans in collaboration with physicians, care team members, patients, and families as appropriate.
- Utilize professional nursing skills through the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients of all ages (pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric) on the unit.
- Promote teamwork with medical staff and hospital personnel related to the unit.
- Adhere to hospital policies on confidentiality, sexual harassment, advance directives, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Function independently with strong assessment, communication, computer, and documentation skills.
Shift Details
- Night shift
- Med/Surg unit
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the State of Maine.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience, with recent experience within the last year.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
Experience
- Specialty: Nursing (Med/Surg)
- Minimum years of experience: 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience.
- Prior travel experience: Not required.
Skills
- Excellent assessment and clinical judgment.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Proficient with computer systems related to patient care documentation.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive team environment providing care across a broad patient age range on a medical-surgical unit during night shifts.
