Description

Registered Nurse - CCU (Critical Care Unit)

Location: Seymour, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 3 nights per week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
  • Work includes Labor Day and weekend rotation
  • Floating within scope of practice may be required to meet facility needs
  • Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Indiana
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in CCU - Coronary Care, with experience within the last year
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Valid driver’s license

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks including SSN trace, federal and state checks, sex offender registry, FACIS Level 1, education verification
  • Education verification via diploma or transcript required
  • Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology test
  • Facility-specific documents to review and sign (confidentiality, eligibility attestation, orientation packets)
  • Computer-based learning modules assigned approximately 2 weeks prior to start, to be completed by compliance due date

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
  • Immunizations/vaccinations:
    • Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or titer)
    • Hepatitis B (3 vaccines with positive titer, positive titer only, or signed declination)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or titer)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-SPOT)
  • 9-panel drug screen within 1 year prior to start (instant accepted)
  • Flu vaccine recommended but not required for 2025-26 season
  • COVID vaccination/documentation not required but preferred if available

Additional Information

  • References: 2 professional references from the past 3 years required
  • Call-out restrictions: cannot call out if absence exceeds one week
  • EMR system used: Meditech Expanse

Notes

  • First-time travel nurses may be considered depending on experience
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required annually

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
