Job Opportunity: Emergency Psych RN - Nights

Location: Lewiston, Maine
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)


Job Summary

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Psychiatric Services department.
  • Develop and update individualized interdisciplinary care plans.
  • Evaluate patient outcomes and identify available resources.
  • Care for patients aged 5 and older with psychiatric illnesses such as major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, psychotic disorders, and those requiring detoxification.
  • Work in a behavioral healthcare setting focused on mental health recovery.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maine
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Psychiatric Emergency Department (Psych ED), with experience within the last year
  • Mental health nursing experience
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training

Additional Information

  • Candidates currently holding licensure hits will not be considered.
  • Previous employees of this facility are not eligible.
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
  • Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
  • The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
  • Local travelers receive a lower local rate (not detailed here).

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
