Job Description

  • Support Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and float to overflow areas including Emergency Department (ED) for patient holds.
  • Scheduled for 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee.
  • Must be agreeable to alternating 36/48 hour schedules.
  • Start date within the next 3-5 weeks.
  • Night shift: 3 or 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM).

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year.
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Background check within 1 year, including SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide, and sex offender registry.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
  • NURSYS verification within 30 days of start.
  • State nursing license verification within 30 days of start.
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start.
  • Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and COVID vaccination documentation.
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/1–5/31) or facility-specific medical/religious exemption.
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
  • References: 2 required within 3 years.
  • Employment application or resume.
  • Annual updates for skills checklist and orientation safety manual acknowledgment.

Additional Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of facility-specific forms prior to start (e.g., parking policy acknowledgment, confidentiality statement, code of conduct, traveler orientation).
  • Flu medical or religious exemption forms if applicable.
  • Hepatitis B declination form if no positive titer on file.
  • TB questionnaire required regardless of TB status.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with PCU and ED float assignments, night shifts, and flexible scheduling in a travel nursing role.
