Radiation Therapist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Valdosta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (5 days x 8 hours)
Patient Population: Adults
Setting: Outpatient Cancer Center
Job Description
- Provide radiation therapy treatments using advanced techniques including SRS, SBRT, IMRT, VMAT, 3D, 4D, 2D, IGRT, SGRT, and DIBH.
- Work primarily with diagnoses such as prostate, breast, lung, head/neck, skin, rectal, primary brain cancers, and palliative bone metastases.
- Operate Elekta Versa HD accelerators and use imaging systems like XVI & iView, VisionRT SGRT, and Hexapod table.
- Utilize GE CT simulator and Philips Pinnacle Treatment Planning System (TPS).
- Complete daily warm-ups (optional).
- No call and no float required.
- Must be able to plan time off in advance.
- Orientation includes 8 hours general onboarding and pairing with a mentor.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist, with experience within the last year.
- Experience with Elekta Mosaiq documentation system is mandatory.
Dress Code
- Scrubs: Caribbean blue preferred; any color except black acceptable.
- Business casual with lab coat also acceptable.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Must provide:
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- Social Security Card
- Official Transcript or Diploma
- Background check within 30 days of start (including SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, renewed yearly
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or documentation if previously positive)
- Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (facility-specific declination accepted)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (including THC)
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption prior to start during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption as per facility policy
- Passport-style photo with white background for badge
- Employment application and 2 professional references
Additional Information
- Facility is closed on major holidays including Thanksgiving (11/28-29), Christmas (12/25-26), and New Year’s Day (1/1).
- RO students may be present occasionally.
- Mask fit testing completed at orientation.
- Must complete facility-specific online learning modules prior to start.
- Must comply with facility’s drug and alcohol policy, confidentiality agreement, and dress code acknowledgment.
- Car registration required if driving to work.
