Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (6:30pm - 7:00am)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Provide nursing care to Emergency Room patients using the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure safe patient care delivery in a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department.
- Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
- Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
- Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
- Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively.
- Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
- Apply strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care.
- Adhere to safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Floating and call responsibilities required (call at least 2 hours prior to shift start).
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC
