Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Position Details
- Specialty: Respiratory Therapy (RRT)
- Shift: Night shift primarily (7 PM - 7:30 AM) and day shift (7 AM - 7:30 PM)
- Weekly hours: 48 hours guaranteed
- Weekend hours: 36 hours (unless otherwise noted)
- Call requirement: Yes, 2 hours for the oncoming shift
- Number of open positions: Approximately 30 due to retirements and unit expansions
- Units covered: Surgical ICU (3rd unit opening), Intermediate Care (IMC), NICU/PICU, Emergency Department, adult acute and critical care
- Float requirements: Must float as RRT to NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, adult acute and critical care
Patient Care & Environment
- Facility type: Tertiary, teaching hospital, Level 1 trauma center
- Patient ratios: Acute care 1:25, Critical care 1:8
- Number of beds: Varies daily, facility-wide coverage with a team of 14-16 RRTs
- Equipment used: Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, Vapotherm
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Maine
- Registered Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of 3 years of experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Experience in tertiary care, teaching hospital settings
- Experience in Level 1 trauma center environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic care preferred
- Flexible, team-oriented with strong communication skills
