Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech Maternal Fetal
Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (5 days a week, 8 hours per day, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Perform a variety of high-risk obstetric ultrasound examinations and procedures following established AIUM protocols.
- Utilize clinical judgment based on patient conditions and clinical circumstances.
- Conduct clinical assessments and diagnostic sonography examinations.
- Synthesize ultrasound findings with patient medical history.
- Charting system used: EPIC.
- No weekend or on-call requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography experience with a minimum of 2 years, including experience within the last year.
- ARDMS certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Required Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted.
- National certification/verification prior to facility start and upon expiration, as applicable.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (for RNs if applicable).
- Other certifications may be required based on unit specifics (refer to employer for details).
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Comprehensive background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including SSN trace, criminal searches, sex offender search, education verification, and state/nationwide checks.
- Pennsylvania-specific clearances required within 90 days of start:
- Child Abuse Search (must list ‘Employment’ for certification purpose).
- Department of Human Services Fingerprint Results (all pages required).
- PATCH Search Results (certificate must have seal and not be “under review”).
- Medicheck Search Results (within 30 days of start).
- Education verification for highest level related to specialty.
- Employment application with 7 years of complete work history and explanations for gaps over 90 days.
- Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 2 months of start.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per guidelines.
- Required immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (declinations not accepted)
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (clinical staff required).
- COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination with facility-specific form.
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel or 9-panel (without THC) within 60 days of start.
- Respirator fit test and medical clearance required for respirator use starting 04/07/2025 and beyond.
- Fit test questionnaire required prior to start.
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Photo for badge (new candidates starting 3/31/2025 and onward): recent, forward-facing, color photo with solid background, no hats or masks.
- Badge request form (time sensitive for candidates starting before 3/30/2025).
- Affidavit for provisional employment must be completed prior to start.
- COVID and flu declination forms required if applicable.

- Scrub color: Black.
- No prior travel experience required.
- References and verifications must be current and complete for clearance.
- All documentation must be uploaded and maintained according to employer guidelines.
