Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer
Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform cardiac sonography for both inpatient and outpatient populations
- Patient diagnoses include:
- Valvular Disease
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Oncology
- Congenital Anomalies
- Cardiomyopathy
- Cardiogenic Shock
- Shift: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
- Call required
- 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
- First-time travelers are welcome
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer, including experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
- Valid state licensure as applicable for Cardiac Sonographer in Missouri
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background checks within 30 days of start, including:
- National Criminal Check
- State and County Searches (10 years of all addresses and aliases)
- Social Security Number Trace
- National Sex Offender Registry
- Federal exclusion lists (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
- Education verification with official transcript or diploma including graduation date
- Missouri EDL Search required within 30 days of start
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (includes multiple drug panels)
- Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually)
- Fit mask testing completed onsite at orientation
- Immunizations and/or proof of immunity or declination for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Flu vaccine required during flu season or approved medical/religious exemption with mask-wearing mandate
- Two professional references within 3 years of start
- Employment application, skills checklist, and recent work history verification
Additional Notes
- Orientation includes review and signing of confidentiality agreement, code of conduct, and other facility-specific documents
- Pass/fail testing on basic dysrhythmia exam required (score 84% or higher, with limited attempts)
- Annual acknowledgment of safety manual and competency exams as applicable
- Onsite fit testing and AVADE training may be required if contract is extended beyond initial period
