MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Fishersville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Work every 3rd weekend
• Occasional overnight call

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Valid Virginia or Compact State Radiology license
• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program (Associate degree or higher preferred)
• Registered in radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with documented continuing education to maintain certification

Certifications (as applicable)

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit assignment
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification) may be required based on specific unit needs—verify with unit details

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, counties and statewide checks for last 7 and 3 years respectively, sex offender registry, and nationwide checks
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test including marijuana within 30 days of start; zero tolerance for THC regardless of medical marijuana card
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Fit mask test (N95 preferred) required annually; onsite testing available
• Immunizations and titers required: Tdap (within 10 years), TB test or chest X-ray, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (10/1 – 3/31) unless approved medical or religious exemption is provided two weeks prior to start

Documentation and Onboarding Requirements

• Completion and review of facility-specific documents including:

  • Standards of Appearance, Dress Code Policy, Social Media Policy, Confidentiality Agreement, Compliance Acknowledgement, Masking Requirements, Parking Registration, and others
• Completion of medical and work history forms prior to start
• Completion of TB questionnaire annually
• Submission of 2 professional references
• Current employment application or resume
• Skills checklist updated annually for specialty

Additional Notes

• Must comply with a 50-mile radius rule for travel
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Candidates may be subject to additional onsite drug screening; failure will result in cancellation
• Facility may require fingerprinting and CPS check for behavioral health candidates (not applicable here)
