Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care for patients in Med Surg/Medical Surgical - Telemetry, IMCU, stepdown, or PCU units.
• Patient types include ED observation, overnight stays, and various surgeries requiring overnight care.
• Typical patient ratios range from 3:5 to 2:7.
• Unit bed size: 16 beds.
• Scrub color: Navy.
• Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime applies after 40 hours.
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed.
• Orientation is 16 hours.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: EPIC.

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Valid RN license in Iowa.
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, with telemetry experience within the last year.
• Experience in PCU (Progressive Care Unit) and stepdown settings.
• One completed travel assignment.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Heparin experience.
• Experience with Epic.
• Driver's License.
