Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health (Evenings)

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evenings
Hours per Day: 8 (with potential opportunity for additional shifts up to 48 hours per week, not guaranteed)


Job Summary

  • Provide nursing care based on the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and physicians to coordinate care for individuals and groups.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, including discharge and aftercare planning.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients and staff in individual and group settings.
  • Document and report all necessary information according to policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and report any potential safety risks to physicians.
  • Function as a clinical leader by delegating and coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development.
  • May serve as charge nurse and be involved in scheduling, staffing, and training direct care staff.
  • Uphold professional standards, promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and demonstrate compassion and integrity in patient care.
  • Support a recovery-focused, person-centered approach in community residential settings.
  • Maintain annual training and demonstrate competency in required programmatic training.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
  • Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience working with pediatric patients
