Description

Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Workdays: Friday, Saturday, plus one additional weekday night
  • No on-call duties
  • Flexibility required

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years in cardiac, vascular, and transplant nursing
  • At least 1 year of CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience
  • At least 1 year experience in a Level I Trauma facility

Required Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Facility may require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) depending on unit (check with recruiter)

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in General Operating Room procedures
  • Cardiovascular, Thoracic, Vascular, and Transplant nursing skills
  • Experience with EPIC electronic charting system

Licensure

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Ohio

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific codes apply)
  • Education verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA)
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and no contagious disease
  • Immunizations and health documentation required:
    • Tdap vaccine (adult dose)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination acceptable)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • Fit mask test required annually for inpatient/patient-facing roles (valid for entire assignment)
  • Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and annually thereafter
  • Background check and fingerprinting results must be clear before starting assignment; pending results require attestation

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of medication/pharmacology competency exam prior to start
  • Unit-specific competency exams may be required
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start (with remediation process if needed)
  • References: Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leader
  • Employment application and skills checklist required

Parking

  • Parking permits available for purchase (costs vary; details provided by recruiter)

Notes

  • Candidates must be flexible with scheduling
  • No call responsibilities
  • Facility-specific dress code and hand hygiene policies must be reviewed and signed
  • Annual compliance and ethics policies acknowledgment required for new contracts

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful.
