Job Overview

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3x12, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required between Eastern region hospitals, including long-term care and acute care settings
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New York
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Driver's License
Key Clinical Skills
- Adult critical care
- Emergency department care
- Extubation and intubation assist
- Airway placement and suctioning
- Tracheostomy care and management
- Ventilation support and troubleshooting
- High-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP, CPAP
- Weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Long-term care experience
Common Patient Population / Procedures
- Patient Diagnoses: CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, respiratory infections
- Unit Procedures: ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment, medication administration, pulmonary hygiene
- Equipment: Hamilton Vent, Servo-U, NKV330, V60
Additional Notes
- 6 weekend shifts are required over the 13-week contract
