Labor and Delivery Nurse
Location
- Bolivia, North Carolina
Assignment Details
- Travel/contract role
- 13 weeks
- Night shift: 18:45–07:15
- 48 or 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend
- 2 mandatory call shifts per 6-week schedule
- Floating required to assist other units
- Self-scheduling
- Unit orientation: 32 hours
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Traveler experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- AWHONN
- NRP
- Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)
- Use of External and Internal Fetal Monitoring
- Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
Key Skills
- LDRP and Mother/Baby care
- Sterile speculum exam assistance
- External fetal heart monitoring
- External and internal fetal monitoring
- Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Breastfeeding and lactation support
Unit Information
- Labor and Delivery / Mother-Baby patient population
- Couplet care ratio: 1:4
- Approximately 800 births per year
