Job Overview

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (3 years of experience)
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Clinical Experience / Unit Details
- NICU cares for infants as early as 23–24 weeks gestation
- Unit does not use ECMO
- Common NICU capabilities include CPAP/BiPAP, high-frequency vents, oscillators, vents, blood and blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling/warming blanket, feeding tubes, PICC/central lines, and syringe pumps
- Traveler may attend high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries
- Travelers usually do not admit babies because the unit has a dedicated admit nurse
- Floating is rare, but may include other campuses or newborn care settings

- Consecutive shifts of 3 or more may be possible
