Operating Room Nurse
Overview
- Location: Abilene, Texas
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Schedule: Friday–Sunday, no call
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Start timing: Start date in the next 3–4 weeks is strongly preferred

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- OR - Operating Room (1 year of experience)
- OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Craniotomy experience
- Burr hole experience
- Neurosurgery experience
- Ortho Trauma experience
Additional Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID
- E-Verify or attestation
- Background check
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, then updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- Texas DADS Employability Status Check within 30 days of start
- Texas Employee Misconduct Registry check within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, varicella, tetanus/diphtheria/Tdap, and drug testing documentation
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
- 2 references within 3 years of start

Facility Process Notes
- Orientation modules are required and take about 3–4 hours
- Parking is available for orientation and employee parking after orientation
- Fit mask testing can be completed onsite for a fee
- Pass/fail testing is required for telemetry nurses
- Candidate must review and sign multiple facility acknowledgements before start
