  • Definitive Observation Unit Nurse, Progressive Care Nurse, Cardiac Progressive Care Unit Nurse, Telemetry Nurse, Med Surg/Telemetry Nurse, Cardiac Stepdown Nurse, Surgical Stepdown Nurse, Stepdown Nurse, Telemetry PCU Nurse or Intermediate Care Nurse (2 years)
    Education
  • Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate of Science in Nursing

Step Down RN

Location

Dayton, Ohio

Schedule

  • Night shift
  • 4x12 hours
  • 19:00–7:30
  • 48 hours per week

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Job Type

Specialty Focus

  • Cardiac step-down / progressive care
  • Pre- and post-op open heart management, including CABG, valve, mitral clip, and TAVR
  • Continuous telemetry care

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • 1 year of PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
  • Ability to read and interpret EKG strips
  • Experience with CABG and valve post-op care
  • Cardiac experience
  • EPIC experience
  • Ability to pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before start
  • Ability to fit N95 respirator prior to working on the unit

Experience

  • 1.5 years of experience preferred
  • Travel experience preferred

Work Expectations

  • Target patient ratio: 1:4–6
  • Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday
  • First to float at the employer’s discretion
  • May float to other medically appropriate units or support nursing care teams, including high-risk respiratory/COVID units

Additional Notes

  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • RTO must be requested with initial submission
  • Current Nursys report must be included with submission

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
