CVICU RN

Overview

  • Specialty: Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse
  • Location: Florence, South Carolina
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract length: 12 weeks
  • Shift: Nights, 3x12s, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holiday rotation: Yes
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: Required within scope to like units/sister facilities as needed
  • Patient ratio: 1:2

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Carolina
  • CVICU (1 year of experience)
  • CVICU experience within the last year
  • ACLS
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Cardiac experience
  • Neuro experience
  • Experience with Epic

Schedule Notes

  • Block scheduling may be requested before assignment, but is not guaranteed
  • Local travelers are not accepted
  • All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application

Additional Considerations

  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • Travelers should be aware they may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season, which runs from June through November

Compliance / Pre-Start Items

  • Copy of driver’s license or state ID
  • Copy of Social Security card
  • US work eligibility attestation and completed I-9 on file
  • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked for the past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start and at each renewal/extension
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start and at each renewal/extension
  • 2 clinical references
  • Performance evaluation dated within 12 months of start
  • Complete application/resume
  • Skills checklist for the applicable unit
  • Initial physical exam, updated annually
  • Tdap within 10 years of start or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
  • TB questionnaire
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity/vaccination documentation
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • COVID vaccination documentation or declination if not vaccinated
  • Flu vaccination documentation or exemption during flu season
  • Respirator clearance for patient-facing travelers
  • Photo for badge
  • Signed assignment acknowledgment, confidentiality agreement, systems user agreement, HIPAA confidentiality agreement, and employee info forms
  • Job description acknowledgment
  • Orientation modules and local orientation acknowledgment before start

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
