Operating Room Nurse

Job Overview

  • Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
  • Weekly hours: 36
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Scheduling: 3x12s or 4x10s; no block scheduling
  • Call: 8–12 hours per month
  • Setting: Main OR at a Level 1 Trauma Center
  • Local candidates: Accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Jersey
  • OR - Operating Room (3 years of experience)
  • OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

  • CNOR
  • Travel experience
  • Experience with ortho trauma and spine
  • Experience with neuro/craniotomy for tumor cases
  • Experience with robotic surgery
  • Experience with bariatric cases
  • Experience with laparoscopic and open abdominal cases
  • Strong trauma skills

Key Clinical Experience

  • Ortho trauma and spine
  • Neuro/craniotomy for tumor
  • Robotic surgery
  • Bariatric surgery
  • Laparoscopic and open benign and oncologic GYN and general surgery cases
  • Trauma cases

Additional Notes

  • EPIC charting system
  • Government-issued photo ID required

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
