Job Overview
- Location: Elkhart, Indiana
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours (6:00 AM–4:30 PM)
- Weekly hours: 40
- First-time travelers: Accepted
- Local candidates: Not accepted; must live at least 50 miles away
- Floating: May float to Main OR if needed
- On-call: Usually 3 days per week, with every-other-weekend on-call coverage
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- CVOR experience with 2 years of experience
- CVOR experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- CNOR
- AORN
Additional Job Details
- Support includes cardiovascular operating room and Hybrid OR cases
- Common procedures include CABG, valve cases, ECMO, pericardial window, mediastinoscopy, thoracoscopy, thoracotomy, carotid endarterectomy, femoral embolectomy, and femoral pseudoaneurysm repair
- Scrubs are provided
- Parking is free
Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements
- Background check covering the last 7 years and all states lived/worked in
- Education verification or diploma/transcript
- Physical exam
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- TB screening documentation
- Immunization or immunity documentation for measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption before start
- Confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement
- Required onboarding modules before start
