Description

First Assist

Location

  • Fort Wayne, Indiana

Job Type

  • Travel
  • 13 weeks
  • Days, 6:30a–5p
  • 4x10-hour shifts
  • Holidays and call required
  • Option for block scheduling

Required Qualifications

  • BLS
  • First Assist certification
  • CST or Certified Surgical Assistant
  • CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
  • CVOR Technologist (2 years of experience)
  • CVOR First Assist experience
  • Certified Surgical Technologist experience

Key Role Details

  • Primary surgical assistant for cardiovascular surgery
  • Must be able to cannulate when going on bypass and coming off bypass
  • May need to pass cannulation suture
  • Must be able to suture as directed by surgeons
  • Strong cardiac skills required
  • May float to Main OR
  • Average of 85 surgeries per month

Additional Notes

  • Hospital-issued scrubs
  • Candidates who were surgeons or physicians in another country will not be accepted
  • Required licenses and certifications must be attached with submission or the candidate will be rejected

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
