Job Overview

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Start date: ASAP
Shift: Day or night, 3x12 hours
Weekly hours: 36
Contract length: 6 weeks
First-timers accepted: Yes
Local candidates accepted: Yes
Pending license accepted: Yes
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend; blocked weekend scheduling also considered
On-call: No
Floating: May float within scope between NICU, PICU, and CVPICU
Patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2; if floated to NICU, up to 1:3
RTO limit: Up to 7 days
Guaranteed hours: 48 hours, with no overtime until after 48 hours
Scrub color: Any child-friendly color; no logos

Required Qualifications

Experience: 2 years of PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience
Experience: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
Experience: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience
Certifications: ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association, BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association, and PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
License: Valid RN license in District of Columbia
Education: Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
License verification: NURSYS verification required
Testing/competencies: Medication test/pharmacology competency exam, competency exam, and color blind testing
