Unit Overview
Fast-paced ICU caring for neurological diseases and disorders, including seizures and strokes, with overflow ICU patients from medical-surgical ICU and heart and vascular ICU.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- 2 years of comprehensive stroke center experience in a large hospital with some neuro experience
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Experience with Epic
- Must be able to read and interpret strips
- Current resume/application
- 2 references from within 2 years of start, with 1 from a manager, supervisor, or charge RN
- Skills checklist within 1 year prior to documentation due date
- 7-year criminal background check
- E-Verify
- Government-issued photo ID
- Current Nursys report
- Annual health questionnaire
- Candidate agreement
- Physical exam within 2 years of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray
- Drug screen within 12 months prior to documentation due date
- Respiratory protection medical questionnaire and clearance
- Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year of start
- Ohio licensure verification
- Employment application
- Work history verification if 2 professional references cannot be obtained
Scheduling and Assignment Expectations
- Traveler will be first to float at the employer’s discretion
- May float within the specialty cluster and to other campuses in the Dayton/Centerville/Englewood area
- Must be available every other weekend and holiday
- Up to 2 shifts may be canceled per 13-week contract due to low census
Additional Notes
- RTO must be requested with initial submission; no RTO can be added after offer
- Approval of RTO is at manager discretion
