PACU RN

Location

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Type

Travel/Contract

Shift

  • Day shift, 3x12 hours
  • Hours: 9:00–21:30 or 11:00–23:30
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week

Contract Length

13 weeks

Specialty Experience

  • 2 years of experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years ICU experience or 3 years ED experience required
  • Experience with high-acuity PACU patients required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Minnesota
  • PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
  • PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • 2 years of ICU experience
  • 3 years of ED experience
  • Experience with ventilators
  • Ability to care for hemodynamically unstable patients in phase I recovery
  • Post-op recovery experience with oncology patients
  • Post-op recovery experience with orthopedic patients
  • Post-op recovery experience with gynecology patients
  • Post-op recovery experience with neuro patients
  • Post-op recovery experience with general surgery patients

Work Setting / Responsibilities

  • PACU role
  • May float within scope to Pre-op, PACU, Phase II, and Helping Hands
  • Will work weekends as needed

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Pending license accepted
  • Local candidates not accepted within a 100-mile radius
  • 5 days of requested time off allowed

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
