GI Lab RN
Overview
- Specialty: Procedural Sedation RN / GI Lab
- Location: Rio Rancho, New Mexico
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Hours per week: 40
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: Required
- Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
- Block scheduling: Not available
- First-time travelers: Accepted
- Local candidates: Not accepted within 100 miles
- RTO restriction: Time off greater than 7 days requires approval
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- GI Lab experience within the last year
- 1 year of GI Lab experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Interventional Radiology experience
Relevant Clinical Experience / Skills
- Conscious sedation administration and monitoring
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Specimen handling and labeling
- Colonoscopy
- ERCP
- EGD
- IR/GI sedation cases
- Laser-assisted procedures
- Angioplasty
- Upper and lower extremity angiography
- Radiation and laser safety
- Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale
- Vascular closure systems
Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements
- Background check
- Fingerprinting
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask within 1 year of start
- Tdap vaccine
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption/documentation
- Two professional references within 3 years of hire
- Unit-specific skills checklist, updated annually
