PCU/Oncology Registered Nurse
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Dayton, Ohio
- Night shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- Oncology experience
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Qualifications
- Sickle cell experience
- Chemo certification
- Level 1 or 2 experience
- Travel experience
Unit / Role Details
- Must float to all Stepdown/Advanced Care units
- Target patient ratio is 1:4, with assignments up to 1:5–6
- Mixed-acuity oncology and hematology unit
- May care for patients receiving blood products, chemotherapy, drips, PCA therapy, and wound care
- ONS certification allows RNs on the unit to administer chemotherapy
Scheduling / Assignment Expectations
- No block schedule
- Must be available every other weekend and holiday
- First-to-float assignment policy applies
- May float to other campuses within the health system’s local area
- Low-census cancellation policy applies during the contract
Other Notes
- Navy blue scrubs required
- N95 fitting is required before working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is used or needed
- RTO must be requested with initial submission; no RTO added after offer
