Registered Nurse — Operating Room

Key Assignment Details

• Floating required across all campuses.
• Local radius rule: 50 miles.
• Orientation is 16 hours.
• Scrubs are provided.
• Weekend call runs from end of shift Friday until 6:30 AM Monday.
• Required to work 1–2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed.

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Valid RN license in Iowa.
• Driver's License.
• 2 years of Operating Room experience.
• Operating Room experience within the last year.
• One completed travel assignment within the previous 9 months.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Experience working with pediatric patients.
• Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients.
• Experience with Epic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Scrub experience.
• Experience with neurology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular cases.
• Trauma Level I experience.

Work Environment

• Operating room setting with 16 ORs.
• Average caseload is 35–50 cases per day.
• Patient ratio is 1:1.
• Uses EPIC.
• Service lines include cardiac/PV, neuro, ortho trauma, robotics, gyn, uro, general, pediatrics, and transplants.
