Job overview
- Travel/contract role in Overland Park, Kansas
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- Patient ratio: 1:5
- First-time travelers accepted
- Float pool position; no home unit assigned
- Will float among Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU departments, with possible floating to other metro campuses as needed
Schedule and assignment details
- Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period, with a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments may be required as needed by the unit
- On-call is not required
- Block scheduling is not available
- Local candidates are not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
- Requested time off is limited to no more than 7 days
- Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
Required qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred qualifications
- ACLS
Clinical skills and unit experience
- MS/Tele, telemetry, cardiac telemetry, and neuro stepdown experience
- Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and on-unit telemetry monitoring
- Pre/post cardiac cath experience
- Experience with sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, and COVID care
