ICU / Step-Down ICU RN
Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment type: Contract
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Hours per week: 36
Contract length: 13 weeks
Overview
Experienced RN needed for ICU and Step-Down ICU care. The role requires strong ICU experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center and willingness to float to Step-Down ICU.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Neuro ICU experience within the last year
- 2 years of Neuro ICU experience
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Stepdown experience
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state practice laws
- Document care according to standards of care
- Develop, initiate, and execute patient plans of care based on individual needs and physician or hospital policy
- Participate in unit performance improvement activities and shared governance
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units or departments as needed
- Use critical thinking to support patient safety and patient experience, and escalate concerns appropriately
