Description

PT Acute Care Hospital

Overview

  • Specialty: Physical Therapy, inpatient acute care
  • Location: Rio Rancho, New Mexico

  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day shift, 5x8 hours
  • Weekly hours: 40
  • Weekend requirement: 2 weekend shifts per month
  • Patient population: Adults, adolescents, geriatrics
  • Average caseload: 8 patients per day
  • First-time travelers: Accepted with acute inpatient experience
  • Local candidates: Not accepted within 100 miles
  • Floating: No
  • On-call: Not required
  • Block scheduling: Not accommodated

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in New Mexico
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted with completion of the exemption form
  • Pending New Mexico license accepted at time of submission
  • Acute inpatient experience

Additional Requirements

  • Greater than 7 days of requested time off requires approval
  • New contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks
  • A 6-month break is required for travelers after 4 consecutive assignments or after reaching one year, whichever comes first

Work Environment

  • Community-based hospital
  • Level III trauma center
  • Level I teaching facility
  • 65 inpatient beds and 12 ICU beds

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
