Step Down RN

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Boone, North Carolina
• Night shift: 3x12s, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 8 weeks

Schedule and unit details

• Up to 2 weekends per month
• Floating required to MedSurg based on patient volume
• Holidays required
• Block scheduling may be considered if requested upfront, but is not guaranteed
• Patient ratio: 5:1, with a goal of 4:1
• Average census: 20–24 in a 24-bed unit
• Pediatric patients are occasional; candidate must be comfortable caring for them when needed

Required qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• 2 or more years of total travel experience
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Driver's License
• Telemetry experience
• Med Surg experience
• Experience with Epic

Compliance and onboarding

• Must submit a cover sheet and current NURSYS report
• All requested time off must be submitted with the profile
• Local candidates within 40 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Driver’s license required for address verification prior to offer
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background check required
• Physical exam required
• TB screening or chest X-ray required
• Drug screen required within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required
• Proof of 2 clinical references required
