Neuro ICU RN
Overview
- Travel/contract position in Winston-Salem, North Carolina
- 13-week assignment
- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Floating required to other ICUs and intermediate units
- Every other weekend required
- Staffing ratio: 2:1, occasionally 3:1
- No block scheduling
- Orientation: 24 hours
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Neuro ICU (2 years of experience)
- Neuro ICU experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ICP Monitoring experience
- Ventilator Management experience
Unit Experience and Skills
- ICP monitoring
- Ventilator management
- Telemetry
- Experience with stroke management, ICP management, seizure management, critical care patient management, titrating drips, and invasive equipment
- EVD management
- Zoll temperature management / Arctic Sun
- PCA management
Unit Details
- Neuroscience intensive care unit for neurological patients
- 26-bed neuro and surgical ICU within a comprehensive stroke center
Scheduling and Attendance
- RTO after booking is not allowed
- Additional RTO or call-offs may result in cancellation and do-not-return status
Work Environment
- Scrubs not provided
- Navy blue, white, or a combination of both is required
