PT Behavioral Health
Overview
- Travel/contract role in New York, New York
- 26-week assignment
- 20 hours per week
- Day shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; hours are flexible
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from a program registered by the New York State Education Department or accredited by CAPTE, or equivalent if educated outside the USA
- Passed the National Therapy Exam (NPTE)
- Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in New York State
- Minimum 1 year of experience
Required Certifications
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
Required Screening and Documentation
- State and national criminal background checks
- Fingerprinting
- Competency exam
- 2 references
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months prior to start
- Drug test within 1 year of start
- Influenza vaccination or declination
- Hepatitis B documentation, titer, or declination
- Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella vaccination documentation or titers
- COVID-19 booster is preferred, not required
Training
- TRUST training and annual standard trainings provided by the facility
Key Responsibilities
- Perform initial evaluations and functional assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide physical therapy interventions
- Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Document evaluations, treatment, progress notes, and discharge summaries
- Educate patients and direct care staff
- Collaborate with physicians and other team members
- Serve on Safe Patient Handling and Falls committees as needed
