RN - CCU

Location

  • Alexandria, Louisiana

Job Type

  • Travel
  • Full Time

Schedule

  • 7PM - 7AM
  • Every other weekend
  • No call
  • No floating

Unit / Setting

  • Mixed cardiac and medical ICU
  • Patient types include DKA, acute respiratory failure, MIs, CABGs, and ventilators
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1 for ICU patients and 4:1 for IMCU patients in the ICU

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Louisiana
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps
  • Experience with Impellas
  • Experience with post-op cardiovascular surgeries
  • Experience with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • One year of experience in a critical care setting
  • New graduates accepted

Onboarding / Orientation

  • New hires must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire
  • Completion of organizational entry competency validation and Critical Care Department-specific competency validation is required
  • Annual competency verification is required

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
