PACU Registered Nurse
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Portland, Oregon
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift: 3x12s, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
- No weekends or holidays
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ED - Emergency Department experience
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Experience
- PACU-related experience in ENDO, IR, or CATH LAB settings
- Knowledge of arterial and venous femoral access, sheath removal/management
- Knowledge of anesthesia recovery (Phase I/II)
- Knowledge of TEE, cardioversion, or BMBx procedures
- Experience on a Shared Governance council or committee
- Experience as a Charge RN in ICU, PACU, ED, or a Procedural Unit
Work Environment
- Cares for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in cardiac cath, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and gastrointestinal/endoscopy areas
- Provides cardiac monitoring and recovery for patients receiving moderate procedural sedation or general anesthesia
Additional Notes
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication, active listening, conflict management, time management, and patient care coordination skills are emphasized
- Candidate must be fully available for compliance needs up to the start date
- Government-issued photo ID is required on the first day to obtain a badge
- Background check, references, skills checklist, and employment application history are required as part of onboarding
