Registered Nurse Outpatient
Job Overview
- Contract role in Bethel, Alaska
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Hours: 32 per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Ambulatory Care (2 years of experience)
- Ambulatory Care experience within the last year
- BLS
Preferred Experience
- 1 year of experience in a health care setting as a Registered Nurse
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care using the nursing process
- Direct and coordinate nursing care based on nursing practice standards
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support quality, cost-effective care
- Apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in patient care
- Serve as a resource person when needed
- Supervise unit secretaries and PCTs in collaboration with the Charge Nurse
Skills and Knowledge
- Proficient oral and written communication
- Ability to work independently within prescribed limits
- Ability to administer treatments and medications
- Ability to interpret diagnostic tests
- Ability to provide patient and family education
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Basic EKG skills
- Basic nursing skills
- Ability to document care
- Ability to follow guidelines and procedures
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
